Kuwait Tower…The Symbol of Modern Kuwait

Not too much to hear about Kuwait but it seems that modernization to an Arab country was a big step to welcome more of its tourists, expats and foreign investors to explore what more an Arab country can offer. One of its popular attraction that you mostly seen in postcards and paintings, Kuwait Towers is a popular landmark located at the far end of Kuwait City along the Arabian Gulf road in Sharq District. Composed of 3 towers with 2 major towers and a minor one. Its distinctive design ” the blue green sequins” is made of somewhat ceramic shell that glitters when the light strikes off.

During night time this “blue green sequins” glitters as the light strikes on it.

The main towers’ height was around 614ft high and has 2 minor spheres. Its base is a water tank that holds 4,500 cubic meters and the lower sphere holds 3 different restaurants and can accomodate 90 people at all. The view here was great and they have a wide array of food to choose from Western to Arab cuisine. They are open from 8am to 11pm catering breakfast up to dinner but in a different price depending on what time you prefer. But beforehand you have to make a reservation a week or 2 days before you go there. They won’t accept any walk- ins. The ambiance was nice and good having its mellow music while enjoying your food. And during dinner time, they have this live band performing at their mini stage while the customers are enjoying their sumptous food. The service was also nice and most servers are “kabayans” which are very accomodating to everything you need.

A wide array of foods for breakfast..

After enjoying our sumptous breakfast, we immediately headed to the upper sphere, in which its height was 40 feet from the lower sphere and holds a cafe and serves as the viewing deck with a full turn of 360 degrees every 30 minutes. From there, you will see the birds’s eye view of the entire Kuwait City plus its nearby places and the entire Arabian Gulf.

Bird’s eye view at the upper sphere of the tower.

Some photo ops while waiting for the tower to open. It was an open area that facing the Arabian Gulf.

Enjoying the sea breeze with the back drop of Kuwait Tower.

On the top of upper sphere…Another photo op.

All in all, it was a great experience eating a sumptous unlimited food and trying its finest first class restaurant and at the same time enjoying its view up seeing the entire Kuwait and the Arabian Gulf. To add up, it was my first new year away from my family but having a great time with your friends that turned into a family.
